There are many excellent beaches to the south of this part of sunny Fuerteventura, and even on a busy day they are too big to be overcrowded. These beaches are popular with surfers, windsurfers and kiteboarders, and their colourful sails and kites only add to the scenery. The north beach stretches for miles and incorporates several lagoons which provide safe bathing. The circular stone windbreaks (corralles) that are a common feature in El Cotillo surround these lagoons. This beach is popular with naturists because of the available shelter and safe bathing.

?A real Haven? I stayed at the Haven in El Cortillo for six nights and it was blissful. A beautiful self contained apartment with access to a sun terrace. You could hear the waves crashing on the nearby shore. If you need to get away from it all, this is the place for you. I travelled on my own and felt safe at all times. The beaches are a serious of little lagoons, you can have one to yourself if you want. I hired a care and explored the island very worthwhile. If you stay here eat on the little pier at the Resturant La playa, food is excellent, in fact all the resturants I eat in were good, authentic spainish cooking. Go to the pier in mid afternoon and you might see the man and his floating dog!! The dog floats on his back!! Amazing!

WOW. we had the most amazing time. its so peacful and welcoming its great. the people around el cotillo are friendly and very helpful. The apartment was in a great location few seconds walk from village but tucked away from noise.my boyfrind wanted drinks but nothing like clubby style and i wanted the sun it was perfect. the roof terrace was a god send. no one else was ever up there so had privacy (if you know what i mea. no white bits tehe) it reall was the best holiday iv had in years.

As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. It was a pleasure to speak to both owners who were able to give us a good advise on places to visit. Breakfast was excellent.

This has to be one of the cleanest and nicest apartments we have ever stayed in. Great reception and a very informative lady who meet us. We highly recommend this apartment and el Cotillo, great Beach...

Me equivoqué totalmente.

Cita obligada. Unos chicos italianos muy amables.
Vamos , unas vacaciones estupendas.Cuando volvimos estuvimos hablando de El Cotillo a todo el mundo tanto , que creo que muchos de nuestros amigos es como si ya lo conocieran realmente.
Ah!! estamos planeando repetir en la primera semana de Diciembre.
Volveré a escribir mi experiencia.

El Cotillo is still as yet slightly unspoiled - but this may not last too long so hurry up. You must go the Lagoon Beaches and Cafe Torino is a great place for garlic prawns and fresh sea-fish as well as kid friendly snakcs and ices. Just off the lagoon beach is Azzurro - good Italian and Canarian food and if the weather is right a good evening dining experience too. In the town the best we found was Casa Rustica - which I cannot recommend highly enough. The fish specials ("with garlic?") must be had and portions are generous and good value; if not too busy they can customise dishes for children. The kalamari is also fresh and cooked to perfection. Go for the house wine and you won't go too far wrong either (red or white). The pizzeria in Lajares is good value and friendly (and does pizza with nutella for dessert!) and in the same village is a really good French Bakery; a little further afield you have El Horno in Villaverde which for meat lovers will be hard to beat on the island - pork and beef are exceptional and grilled on an open fire to order.
Finally - have to reiterate the lagoon beaches at El Cotillo cannot be beaten - probably one of the best beaches we've ever found for us and the kids...just watch out for the naked Germans!

We stayed here in April 2010 and loved every second of it! The rooftop deck was absolutely great and the lagoons north of el Cotillo were always very quiet and had the bluest water! The restaurants in El Cotillo were authentic and relaxed and everyone was very welcoming. We could easily reach other parts of the island and were sure glad we picked the Haven to stay at! We have now moved to Dubai but always recommend a stay here to anyone traveling to Fuerteventura.

Spent a week at The HAVEN in November 2010. The appartment was ideal and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore was therapeutic to say the least. The beaches and lagoons were idyllic but most of all the restaurants were all excellent. We had lunch on the day we arrived at Resturant La Playa and it set the standard for the rest of the week. Casa Rustica was worth a second visit. All in all wonderfull.

Decided to spend our first Christmas in the sun and so glad we did. The Haven was fabulous. Very well equipped, nothing was too much trouble. The lagoons were perfect secluded and peaceful just make sure you find one of the stone shelters they are ideal :-) I would highly recommend The Haven at El Cotillo who are looking for peace and quiet = blissful.

the haven is described as a little gem, and rightly so you start your holiday leaving the
airport with almost to the yard directions given by jaquie making it a stressfree to find
el,cotillo.the apartment was ideal, not only did the haven have every home comfort, full cooker washing machine etc,but also located only yards away from an array of excellent
restaurants, and bars both local spanish and the excellent el toston run by an english
couple. you also have the peace of mind that knowing that jaquie was but a phone call
away shuld you have any problems-but you won,t. jaquie and iain are a great couple
offering great accomodation, and the beaches are on your doorstep, what more could
you want.
